www.richwordpressor.com In this Wordpress Tutorial, we're going to take a look at how to upgrade your existing WordPress blog using cPanel. First, log in to your cPanel account, and click on Fantastico Deluxe. Now, if you've previously installed WordPress using Fantastico, and that particular WordPress version is already outdated, then Fantastico will prompt you to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress. Now, the latest version of WordPress as available in Fantastico is usually a few weeks slower than the current available WordPress version. So if there's a new WordPress version that is released today, it will probably be available through cPanel and Fantastico in the next few weeks. So in this case, my previous installation was WordPress 2.7, and there's a new version here, 2.7.1. And I should see a link here that says, "Upgrade to 2.7.1." Now, before you upgrade your WordPress blog, make sure that you have created backups of your existing blog, including backups of your posts, comments, images, and every other file that you had used in your WordPress blog, not to forget any themes that you have downloaded, and any customizations you've made to those themes as well. So once you have done those things, click on "Upgrade to 2.7.1" or whatever version that it says here, but generally, you will see a link here that says, "Upgrade," and click on that link.
